Eco Packaging

12/09/11

There is too much plastic around the food we buy. If you have different containers for your trash you will see immediately the great amount of plastic you throw away.

Sometimes is even ridiculous see an amount of eggs in a plastic box which is surrounded by plastic paper… really annoying and unnecessary. Where are the tradicional cardboard boxes?

That is what I love this packaging made by Ben Huttly. Being 100% recyclable and biodegradable, you can plant the packaging because it contains seeds. It is also produced using a laser machine to eliminate the use of harmful printing ink. Good job Ben!

SushiTupper

1/08/11

A crucial accessory in our daily lives, we keep one of our most prized possessions in them; our lunches. But who ever knew the whole range of possibilities? Rolling sushi made simple. I wonder if it’s really as easy as it looks.

For me without fish please!

A Love Note ♥

My dearest Löwensenf,

You know what they say, love always finds us in places we least expect. And it was no other way with my feelings for you.
It all started with a mutual friend introducing us over lunch. But I must confess, the first time I saw you, I was suspicious of you…  with your arrogance and in-yo’-face attitude, I really tried keeping my distance. I failed and now all I can think about are our lunch-dates.
When we’re together I just cant get enough of you. You are my drug; I’m addicted to you.

Forever yours,
elespacio

The staff of life

So, a couple of weeks ago we got a “new” bread machine for the studio (I say new, because it is to us, but the machine itself is quite old – originally from Timo’s mom).
Since the beginning of time, bread has been a big part of our daily working/eating lives, but we always had to have someone else make it for us (ie. the verde cafe downstairs).

Those days are now over and we no longer have to rely on outside sources for our daily pre-lunch fix.

It’s so easy to make fresh bread now that Agnes immediately went and bought one for her home as well (her’s is actually completely new ;) )

The best part is that you can put anything into the mix, therefor it is never boring. In fact you can also make sweet breads – dangerous knowledge for those of us that like dessert after lunch… and also for those that like it for breakfast or before lunch or mid afternoon.

I any case this is how we like to make it:
- pour a glass of cold water into the machine recipient
- pour half a package of breadmix (from Lidl) on top of it
- add anything you want (these days we like hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, oregano, a bit of olive oil)
- put it into the machine, put it on the right settings and wait until it’s done!

The most amazing thing is when it’s almost ready, there’s this subtle freshly baked bread smell floating around the studio :)

ENJOY!

When designers are hungry

We could say that here in the studio all we are salami lovers. We specially like this one, a winter salami from Hungary that we buy in a store specializing in Hungarian food.

Today we found that we are not the only designers that loves salami, Mother Eleganza also does.

They designed this music CD for Shildas, a Lithuanian musician. They did the graphic design of the CD but, as you can see, they cared about the packaging and made it look as a real package of salami.

Being an absolute sucker for nonsense, I couldn’t help myself but to include this lovely item on our blog. It is the perfect party paraphernalia for those who like to entertain with style during the holidays (or any other time). Remember, it’s still not too late to buy this present ;)

You can find those on spoonsister.com
